Welcome to Truro Homeless Action Group

Together we can end food poverty

For over 25 years, the Truro Homeless Action Group (THAG) has been providing breakfasts for the homeless and those in need every morning, except on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, when they serve a special lunch or brunch. This incredible work is made possible by a dedicated team of volunteers, with three on duty each morning from around 7:30 a.m. until 8:30 a.m., often opening a bit earlier or staying open a bit later.

THAG is supported by generous donations from local food businesses and the kind contributions of individuals and companies, helping them continue their service. Many clients come to the St John’s Church Hall on Strangway’s Terrace not only for a hot meal but also for companionship, a change of scenery, or a warm place to enjoy a cup of tea, especially during the colder months. You don’t need to be homeless to come by—anyone struggling to afford food is welcome.

Thoughtful contributions, like a recent donation from a local resident, enabled THAG to buy fresh strawberries, bananas, and mushrooms, which were a big hit with guests.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to all our volunteers and to everyone who provides financial and in-kind support to THAG. Your kindness truly makes a difference. If you’d like to donate or volunteer, please click the links below.
